We find Bolsons Electric Branding Irons are a fun and unique way to brand, well… your brand! The simple and fast process leaves a bold, permanent mark on all sorts of material – wood, leather, cork and more. For some applications you may need a temperature control unit to get the best result. We also make a drill press adaptor for small brands. This allows you fit the brand into the chuck of your drill press to control the pressure and time the brand density.

How does it work?
An Electric Branding Iron is similar to a soldering iron. The end is fixed with a bespoke mark, which we can build from your design or make to your specification. Once the branding iron is heated, it will leave a clear, permanent mark on all sorts of surfaces. For most of our creative projects, a small to medium-size branding iron is best. Get a few of the objects to be branded ready before you start, as well as a test surface to practice marking.
When you’re ready, turn the electric brand on – it’ll take about 10 minutes to heat up entirely. Use your test surface to ensure the brand is hot enough. Align the iron squarely with the surface, then firmly press it in. Depending on the surface, you’ll need to keep it there for a few seconds, then pull it away. If it’s all worked as intended, you’ll find a simple, indelible mark on the surface and you’re ready to keep branding. If it’s not quite how you expected, go back to your test material and practice making marks until you’re confident.
